Wallpaper Icons: Sandberg Eva
As a dedicated lover of all things Scandinavian, if I was ever going to get into wallpaper it was going to be because of Sandberg. The Swedish company creates textiles and wallpapers which perfectly capture the traditional, almost folk-y, side of Scandinavian design. With its romantic, soft colours and natural forms their designs are perfect for a bedroom or, for me, a creative space like my home office. I chose the iconic Eva design because of the pinks, blues and greens which compliment the rest of my home, but it also adds some depth and drama to a north facing room which doesn't get much light.
It was the first time I have applied wallpaper myself - thanks to some help from Dad, a seasoned expert in wallpapering! It was incredibly easy to work with, thanks to the fact that you are advised to paste the wall rather than the paper itself which means you are not fighting floppy paper to get it in the right spot.
I just love the finished result... the modern pink armchair from Made.com ensures its not too 'rational' and the artwork from Alexa Coe breaks up the pattern and ties in the white floor so its not too overwhelming in the space.
I would like to replace the old chest of drawers, as it its verging on a bit twee and old school, but for now I think it works.
The wallpaper is available from WallpaperDirect.co.uk which has an amazing selection of Sandberg wallpaper which you can view here.
